Q & A Section

We know that getting your pet started at a new facility can be intimidating! There are so many questions you have and some you might even forget to ask. We want to make it easy for you to find what you need to sign up for our services and to find the answers to all of your questions.
Please feel free to contact us if there is something we’ve missed!

What do I need to do to get started in your Daycar e or Boarding program?

Upon approval as a new client we will send you all of the information you need to get started. We will send you a welcome packet right to your email so you can create a profile in Gingr.
From there, you can upload all of your pets vaccines and fecal result.
Once we have all of your information, we will get you scheduled for your evaluation. We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get started as this process can take time.

Vaccines are required for any reservation at The Dog House and they are important to ensure a healthy and happy pet. Owners are responsible for keeping their pets up to date and providing The Dog House with updated records. If we do not have updated vaccines before the time of your reservation we will not be able to accommodate your pet.

What is an Evaluation?

To ensure the safety of all pets that attend our programs, we preform and evaluation or what is also known as a temperament test. This is required for all new clients. Your pup will be given a trail run to ensure they will enjoy our program, are well behaved in a kennel, they love our staff members, and overall they are comfortable with us! Since, the eval is required we do not charge you for the day.

*What is a Re-Evaluation?

A re-evaluation is required for clients who have not attended our daycare or boarding program within 6 months. We require a re-evaluation for your pets safety and comfort. A lot can change in 6 months! There is a  charge of $22 for 4 hours and $33 for anything over 4 hours. If your pet does not pass the re-eval, there is no charge.

What is your probation period?

Once your pet passes the evaluation they will be placed on a 5 visit probation period. This is to ensure your pet has time to acclimate to our program and will continue to thrive! We want to make sure your pets love it here and are comfortable. During this time we will work with you and offer recommendations if needed to improve your pets time with us. Please keep in mind all 5 visit should be in close concession. If your pet does not pass the probation period, they will not be allowed to participate in our daycare and boarding programs.

Are there any restrictions?

We accept and love all breeds! We only ask that all pets are spayed or neutered by 6 months of age in order to participate in our daycare and boarding programs.

Is my pet kenneled?

Pets are only kenneled out of safety. For example, your pet will be kenneled during an overnight stay so they can rest. Pets are kenneled for feeding times so that way they don’t have to share. Pets are also kenneled while they are here for grooming services when they are not being groomed.

Are staff members present during an overnight stay?

Yes! We are staffed 24/7 to ensure the safety of all pets.

How do I make a reservation for Daycare or Boarding?

Just give us a call, email, or request a reservation through Gingr. We ask that you at least give us a day in advance. We can always try to accommodate same day request however, we can’t guarantee a reservation.

What is required to make a Grooming appointment?

For new and current clients, all pets must be kept current on their Rabies vaccination. We can’t accept the tags since it does not include an expiration date. Please, just give us a call to schedule grooming (you will need an appointment) and make sure you have your rabies paperwork handy! We will need some basic information from you to set up your profile and you will be set to go.

When my pet is groomed do they interact with other dogs?

Nope! Your pet does not interact with other pets unless you request for them to attend Daycare first and then groomed later in the afternoon.

How long will it take for my pet to be groomemd?

Depending on the condition your pet arrives in and the services we are performing, time may vary. We will give you an estimate upon drop off however, we will call you as soon as the grooming service is complete!

How far in advance do I need to make my reservation for any service?

For most of our services, we can make them as far in advance as you’d like and we can take same day reservations however, it is not a guarantee. You can request a reservation through our Gingr App (only for Daycare and Boarding), give us a call, or an email. We do not recommend using message in a bottle or carrier pigeon due to their unreliability. *For new clients wanting to participate in our daycare and boarding programs we will not be able to accommodate same day reservation request.*

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you give us a 24 hour notice for all of our services. Less than 24 hour notice can result in additional fees or require a non-refundable prepayment. We understand that life happens and we are willing to work with you!

What are packages?

We offer packages for Daycare only. When you purchase a package you will save money (we give you a discount per day) and time because we deduct the package days for you! When you are running low we will notify you upon pick up. We offer half day and full day packages for 10 or 20 days. All package sales are non refundable, non-transferable, and expire within 6 months of purchase.

Do you offer discounts?

We do! We offer discounts for police officers, fire fighters, and anyone who has adopted one of our rescues. VIP clients receive 50% off most of our add on services. Dogs that have additional services during boarding stays or stay for an extended period of time will also receive discounts.
